NEW RELEASE - Emily Pailthorpe, “Phoenix”
Patterson’s Phoenix Concerto for oboe and string orchestra is among his most recent works, and was commissioned for Emily Pailthorpe, who gave its world premieree at the International Double Reed Society Conference in Birmingham in 2009. As its title suggests, the concerto is inspired by the myth of the Phoenix.
This world premiere recording, in which Emily is accompanied by the English Chamber Orchestra under Benjamin Wallfisch, is now available.
