04 May 2012

Harp Competition

Paul Patterson has regularly been commissioned to write works for important performers and ensembles and over the last few years, his works for harp have become standard repertoire, being performed in the programmes of major harpists worldwide. Works like Spiders and Bugs have made Paul a household name in the harp world.

His latest work for harp, called Lizards, has been commissioned as the set piece for the 2nd Thailand International Harp Festival and Youth Competition 2012, and will receive performance from more than twenty competitors. It has been conceived as a work to introduce the young player to modern techniques.

Paul Patterson has been invited to be a special guest at the competition in Thailand and will give workshops on his new work as well as how to write for the harp.

Lizards will be available for sale after the competition in August.
