The award-winning company, Ballet Cymru, presents an extraordinary vision. Two stories from the mind of the most popular storyteller in the world, Roald Dahl.

Roald Dahl was born in Llandaff, Cardiff and now two of his hugely popular stories have been adapted for ballet. Ballet Cymru have produced two works based on sections of Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes, Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs.

Nothing is ever quite what it seems… Both works are based on the outstanding and internationally recognised musical scores by composer Paul Patterson. The two scores were commissioned by The Dahl Foundation and have become children’s classics played all over the globe. Now Patterson’s dazzling scores are being set in dance for the first time.

For this premiere performance only, the live scores will be played by Welsh Session Orchestra!

Ballet Cymru brings to life these timeless stories using the Company’s unique blend of classical technique and storytelling. With stunning costumes, breathtaking choreography and laugh-out-loud humour this production is an imaginative evening of beautiful dance for lovers of ballet and original storytelling.

Ballet Cymru is a young, vital group of dancers who are pushing back the barriers of classical ballet. Using powerful and timeless stories the company challenges its dancers to interpret some of the finest characters in literature.

“These young ballet pioneers deserve wider support. Catch them if you can.” The Dancing Times
